Black cat...bad luck?

I was just in the kitchen making lunch, looked out of the window and saw a black cat strolling by, staring in at me. It then just sat directly opposite the window. I just tried to ignore it and carried on making my lunch, but every time I looked out it was still there. It's just sat, staring. It's really freaking me out...is this a bad omen?
