Can you name this movie?

i remember watching this movie when i was younger, it was about this girl who was friends with his dorky guy, who tried finding her moon ring that she drooped and ended up being stung by bees and dies, i think there is a sequel where she falls in love with a boy, i remember her being pretty young like thirteen or something, if anyone knows plzzzz help:)
