How did a movie about a flamboyantly gay 12 year old "befriending" a studly 20-something cop win awards?

Hello we live in the 21st century ie no morals, if it feels good do it and if you have morals you are clearly a hate filled person who needs mental help. Not to mention OBAMA actually became president. enough said
