I would mention that the Socials are also called Socs and wouldn't say that Dally is Johnny's best friend, but would describe him as a role model for Johnny, which meant he was the only thing that loved him. The story teaches a lesson that we shouldn't judge people by their belongings and problems, but their character. I'd also talk about what it was like at home for Ponyboy, as in his relationship with Darry and Soda and how his parents died. Two more things I would mention are Cherry and Marcia and the rest of the gang. They are all really important to the story.
