Need help concerning God?

Hi, I am 14 years old, and as of now I am an atheist. I mean I just find it like so hard to believe in some deity that evolved from nothingness and just like made a universe? and people in the Bible live for like 900 years and all that? And to me, religion like seems like so threatening...The "loving" god will throw you into a fire pit for not worshipping him? It sounds a little scary. And they say he is merciful, but, once again, "god" burns people for eternity? Sounds threatening. I mean, I feel that there is nothing up there, it all just seems illogical to me. And it's not like u haven't tried Christianity. I had gone to church every other day for like a year, and I still couldn't bring myself to believe in something. On the other side, Christianity has placed a small fear inside of me, that there might be a hell, and I'm headed there for what I believe, but I truly don't believe in a god...so my question is, what do you believe, and why?
